The game
What a journey earns, the finds and the world it paints.
What a journey earns
Every number comes from one configuration file in the code (GameConfig), so balancing the game means changing data, not code. Try different journeys:
A journey ended in under 60 seconds earns only the start reward (20 XP, 10 brass), with no find, no patch and no streak day. That stops tap-farming. Rest pauses the clock and never costs anything.

Lantern streak
- A streak day is any day with at least one journey of 60 seconds or more. The day changes at 4 am, so late nights count as the evening before.
- Spare lanterns cover a single missed day automatically. You can hold up to 3. They come from the shop (200 brass), Embark+ (2 a month), the season pass and friend quests.
- Milestones at 7, 30, 100 and 365 days give a passport stamp and 100 / 300 / 1,000 / 3,000 brass.
- When a streak breaks, the copy only says "A new streak starts today." Basti is never sad about it.
Daily orders
Three orders a day, on a three-day rotation. Each pays 40 brass. Finish all three to open the supply chest (100 brass plus a guaranteed rare or wondrous find).
20 painted finds, 6 districts to paint
Every journey of 60 seconds or more brings one find. There are no duplicates until you own every find in the pool, and after that a duplicate turns into 25 brass. Completing a set gives a stamp, 150 brass and a badge. Tap a find to read its note.
Ten of the twenty shown. All finds and world art are generated with gpt-image-2 and approved by you on 14 October ("Do 1 to 4"). The style is set by the brass lantern hook.
What you work on decides where it paints
Each district starts as an ink sketch and has six named pieces. A journey paints 1 patch, plus 1 for "I did it", plus 1 for a crossing. The kind of task is read from your Reminders list (Work, Home or Errands) or worked out on the device from what you typed.
At rank 4, Lamplighter, a seventh district opens: the far shore. Every 12 patches finishes a chapter and plays a restoration (the boathouse, the far-shore lanterns, the star camp).
The story and the residents
The story, The Lamplighter's Ledger, has eight parts on the lake route and moves on one part per journey. Part 3 lets you choose the shore path or the ridge. Residents turn up along the road:
The heron
The ferry keeper
The postmaster fox
